OK, they most certainly are not Power Pop, but has anyone heard "Fire" by "Electric Six"? This has to be the most fun (and funniest) album I have heard recently. Crunching loud guitars similar to Urge Overkill, combined with lyrics that display a strong and unhealthy obsession with dancing, nuclear war and fire (I'm not kidding). Dick Valentine's vocals remind me of Fee Waybill, The Tubes' singer, singing in his Quay Lewd persona. Completely rockin' and wacky songs with titles like "Danger! High Voltage", "Naked Pictures Of Your Mother", "Vengance and Fashion" and "Nuclear War on the Dance Floor".

Plus, you have to love a band whose members name themselves, Disco, M., Surge Joebot and The Rock-N-Roll Indian!
Pure stupid summertime fun!

Mark
