I had to skip through a bunch of digests a couple of
weeks ago, so I'm not sure if anyone has posted about
this, but was I quite surprised tonight when I turned
on the television and heard Big Star's "I'm In Love
With a Girl" on a commercial. It was strange enough
when the Big Star songs started appearing on 'That 70s
Show,' but now apparently ComEd has jumped on the
bandwagon as well. The spot features a variety of
couples riding a ferris wheel at night while a good
chunk of the song plays (original version - not a
cover or anything). There's no voiceover, just a tag
at the end that says something about "ferris wheels
and romance," then the ComEd logo. Odd. More money
for Alex, though.
