Hey Spaz, I'll agree with you on this one. You forgot to mention that his
new cd will be out in 2 weeks! Yippee!!!!!!!

I didn't think the bands all sucked at the park show. I totally enjoyed
Eugene Edwards set. Plus Blake Jones is just tooooooo cool. Not exactly
pop but really cool. Who else could get away a thermin version of
Miserlou. I also have to comment on The Intelligista. These were high
school boys playing 60's psych pop. A little rough around the edges but
cool. Frank Barajas material was sort of a late 70's/early 80's meets the
Zombies kind of thing. I loved the Roscoe Projects track on the IPO cd but
their harmonies were a bit off. I pick up the cd anyhow

Drew hit the nail on head with Saucy Monky. I had seen them play a few
times before but I think they were the suprise hit of the evening.

Thurs night I saw 4 bands. Like Big Kidd, good power pop picked up the
cd. Badger put on a really good set too. The cd is quite nice. The first
track almost has a soft pop feel. It was pleasure seeing Andy Creigton
with a band. Most of the time he does the solo thing. He is one terrifice
songwriter. THE band of the evening was Maple Mars. Their set just
totally blew me away! Really terrific harmonies. They have become really
tight band For the evening they were joined by Brain Kassan on keyboards
and Nelson Bragg doing harmonies and various sound effects. This set was
definitely one of my favs.

I went to Rainbow Quartz night......wow! no sucky bands on this bill.
Great psych pop....totally my alley! This show made me get up and dance!
Myracle Brah and Gripweeds put a on really good set. I was really impressed
the Contrast and Three 4 Tens. Picked up both cd's Unfortunetately I
missed the Singles, High Dials and Rockfour. I am now kicking myself for
not seeing High Dials. I picked up the disc and it's great!

Ok so Saturday I didn't go to IPO but I did go the Gripweeds / Rockfour
instore. Gripweeds played some new material. I liked Rockfour's semi
acoustic set cause you really got to hear the nice harmonies. And it the
lead singer was jumping around getting into people's faces. That was pretty
funny watching people's expressions.

Nice post Anna, about Saturday!

I don't know about anyone else but I am having fun and greatly increasing my
cd collection

Cathy
