Well I just got home from a LONG day of IPO .. This was the only day I was
attemping to work in both the afternoon and evening shows in the same day, and
it was quite a tiring afair.
I worked merch this afternoon at the show (it was good to meet you Spaz..
You'll have to send me a tracklisting for those mix cd's we were playing in
between bands).. Barry was pretty good, but I'm not a big Barry Holdship fan. I
like a few of his songs on CD but he just never does it for me in concert.
My favorite this afternoon had to be Eugene Edwards, who had knocked my socks
off at the Robbie Rist/Michael Carpenter show a couple of months back,.. He's
great.. I also was quite impressed with the set by Blake Jones this year ..
He did a great rendition of "Misirlou" on the theremin.
Tonight's show at the Galaxy was topped off with great performances by
Sparklejets UK .. Probably the best I've seen them, and they get better every time
(I'm always glad to see "I Want You Back" as part of the set list) .. And they
were one of the few IPO bands I've seen this year that were asked to play an
encore. Scarlet Crush was amazing as they were last year (they were my
favorite "discovery" of the festival in 2002.. this year that honor probably goes to
The Singles so far), as well as the second IPO performance this year by The
Waking Hours.. oh and I can't forget Kenny Howes.. A long and tiring day ..
but worth it !
Tomorrow night I'm working merch at the Derby show.. come check out Morty
Shallman, Martin Luther Lennon, Plasticsoul, Better Days, Cosmo Topper and more!

BARRY HOLDSHIP is king.
He saved the IPO in the Park show today.
All of the above is my opinion and does not express the opinions of anyone
else on this list...unless you want it to!
