One of the tackiest instances of live audience insertions is Mel &
Tim's hit version of "Backfield In Motion". The vastly superior
Poindexter Brothers original has no such effect.

One that does work quite suitably - though not as a live recording
simulation - is Buffalo Springfield's "Broken Arrow".

I for one am a big fan of simulated live recordings, though only in the
party atmosphere vein like ala "Soul Finger", Jr Walkers' "How Sweet It
Is (To Be Loved By You)" and especially Chris Montez recordings on A&M
(eng by Larry Levine at Gold Star no less), "Call Me" and "There Will
never Be Another You" being my favorites.

NP: Gentle Soul - S/T: Thanks to Sundazed, now on cd. Richie Umb.'s
review on AMG is spot-on - a soft pop Stone Poneys, though with more
interaction between this male/female duo.
