Hi, besides power/classic pop, I'm also a big fan, of dirtier(but not
always neccesarily punkier) stuff, call it punk pop, garage pop, melodic
grunge, or what you wish. I mean, mid period 7 Seconds, 80s era Change
of Heart (the Canadian one), the more melodic All / Descendents /
Chemical People/ Big Drill Car, punk-turning-poppier era of the
Lemonheads, Replacements/Goo Goo Dolls, and so on.

A visit to Boss Tuneage's web site, after I bought the excellent mini cd
by Serpico (w/ ex Mega City Four main guy, now called Ipanema, and not
to be confused with the american Serpico) kind of re-ignited my interest
in dirty/punk but hooky stuff. So, I heard a couple of samples from the
the 3 bands on my subject line, the Asexuals, Doughboys, and All Systems
Go. Except for the Asexuals, they were already 'under my radar', already
on my 'look for more info' list. And it was more exactly the Asexuals
who grabbed my attention so much. From what I've searched, they came fom
the early 80s Canada punk scene, and their albums are like the later the
poppier (their later sample tks. were awesome IMO). There also seems to
be some relation between these groups, like a Doughboy playing with All
Systems Go, then someone from All Systems Go forming a band with someone
from the Asexuals, and so on.

I need help and suggestions on where to begin. Later groups or similar
stuff, related or not, are also welcome!

Rafael.
