I was at one of the Frampton shows. My pals Man opened. I think the crowed did
really go nuts at Winterland. Frampton was pretty popular in the Bay Area, a
little ahead of the rest of the country. I'm sure that's why they recorded those
shows.

Still easily could have added more audience.

My guess that most any 60's "live" record has at least an audience loop added, if
not as you mentioned it's just a studio recording with crowd added. see: Johnny
Rivers live at the Whisky for details.
