Could well be the sound guy's fault, though (especially at the Paradise,
which occasionally has simply appalling sound) -- I saw Richard Thompson on
Tuesday, and his bass player sounded fine on either stand-up acoustic or
fretless electric, both of which were perfectly balanced in the sound mix.
The second he picked up the Fender bass, though, he was suddenly inaudible.
