I took the initial post to be a simple question about what band the person
was talking about, maybe with a little shock that a band they knew (and
believed, I assume, to not be arrogant) might have been called arrogant.
That's 'shock,' not 'anger.' I didn't get THAT sense at all. It seemed to
be a much more innocuous post than the one that prompted it, by calling the
band arrogant in the first place.
I have to agree that if you're going to make a point to insult a band
personally, not musically, at least bother to say why. But frankly, even if
they are the most arrogant band in the world, do I really need to know it?
Who cares? I don't pick my music based on my assumptions of the band's
personality. I'd have to get rid of a vast majority of what I listen to.
Probably a lot of it power pop bands.
This list lately seems to really fluctuate between people who are
pointlessly sarcastic and needlessly touchy. I suppose one breeds the
other. But it does get a little tiring watching 'invective' get passed off
as 'lively debate.'
