Opinions are fine, and everyone has them. Yes, anyone can post anything they want. However, it does seem to be common courtesy to back up your opinion with "their chord progressions are the same on every song" or "their lyrics do not hold my interest" or whatever it is that makes you dislike the band, but to cite one song title as the reason for the band being arrogent...

And aside from that, if I think someone is calling my friend arrogent (which has more to do with a person or group of people's attitude/personality than it does to the band's songs or muscianship) I would want to clarify and make sure that I haven't misunderstood them. I can assure you, my friend is the most down to earth guy. We met several years ago at a taping of Conan O'Brian when Ben Folds Five was playing. I was wearing the Cool in School tshirt, so he tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if I was on the Armchair (BFF mailinglist). Of course, I was, and we stayed in touch and I would visit him anytime I was in the city. He also became close friends with my best friend as well as my husband. I've known him for years and never have known him to be arrogent, stuck up, anything of the sort.

Besides, if Evan has the freedom to express his opinion, than I certainly have the freedom to express my disappointment at his opinion.

For the record, I've met Evan, and he is a really cool guy and he plays GREAT music. I certainly don't hold his opinion against him. It just disappoints me to hear him say that. That's all.
