On the last afternoon of last year's IPO in Los Angeles, we were using a
venue for the first time and found out that, lo and behold, they didn't have
any microphones or mic stands. This caused a mini-crisis, as we were
getting close to the beginning of the show and didn't have the equipment we
needed. Carl Peel, who was scheduled to open the show, ran home and got a
microphone and mic stand for us, which he let us use for the remainder of
the afternoon and evening's show, something which was well beyond the call
of duty. Then, during his excellent set, he dedicated one of his songs to
Randell Kirsch's young daughter Brianica, who had recently and tragically
passed away. We could all tell how choked up Carl was over the memory of
Brianica and over his friend's loss. It was a really poignant moment, and
one that I'll never forget.

If Carl Peel is a loser, then the world needs many more losers.

Carl, please hang in there, because your gift is greatly appreciated.

David
