Hey, everyone wants to be a star of some sort.....

For those of you who want to make it in the pop music world, try reading
"Without You: The Tragic Story of BADFINGER". They are one of the most
popular 'pop' bands of all time, they had hit singles, toured the world, put
out great albums, had groupies, did drugs, wrote one of the biggest ballads
of the '70s (Nilsson's version of "Without You"), etc.

Look where it got them: Pete Ham and Tommy Evans both committed suicide and
Joey Molland and Mike Gibbins (the two talented ones who DIDN'T write hit
singles) are both bitter and disheartened (although Joey still uses the name
Badfinger when he tours).

Biographer Dan Matovina did such a great job in presenting their story that
I would not be surprised that they make that essential reading for every
musician starting out. After reading the book, you can make your own
decisions on whether to continue to search for your name in lights, but I'll
be damned if it doesn't make you think about it first.

Let's leave the infantile tantrums to Kelly Osbourne and talk pop...

Has anyone heard the stunning new album from THE SLEEPY JACKSON? Wow....
