Hello all,
This is bit of good news that I thought I should pass on to Audities. Ken Tucker, the music reviewer for Entertainment Weekly magazine, occasionally contributes reviews to the National Public Radio syndicated show, Fresh Air. 3 weeks ago, he stated that there was so much good power pop currently being released, he was devoting the rest of his summer reviews solely to this genre. So far, he has showcased FoW's 'Welcome Interstate Managers', Bleu's, 'Redhead', and The New Pornographer's 'Electric Version'. The good thing about this is Fresh Air is syndicated on hundreds of NPR affiliate stations nationwide, and it exposes the music to audiences that would not normally know what Power Pop is, let alone know about the bands.
...and this has to be a good thing.
I know it's preachin' to the choir, but if you want to listen to the reviews, they are archived at the Fresh Air website. I would provide the link, but the website appears to be temporarily down....
Mark
