I can't speak for Frank, but I got the distinct impression that you
didn't much care for the song via the context of your paragraph about fluff
initially rising to the top, e.g., Pat Boone almost outselling Elvis. The
next time that I read someone's comparison of Pat Boone to a fifties
contemporary (it's usually either Little Richard or Elvis) that is anything
but invidious towards Mr. White Bucks will be the first. Then you remarked
as to how "Yesterday", "Satisfaction", and "Like a Rolling Stone" were
outsold by "Wooly Bully" (and the "... wait for it ..." setup seemed to
denote an extra sneer towards the song). Finally, you concluded your
paragraph by saying that CLASS (your caps) would eventually win out over it
all and endure.

Given all that, and the fact that "fluff" is almost always a
pejorative and "class" almost always a compliment, it's hard for me to see
even after another reading of your post how I could've misinterpreted your
feelings towards "Wooly Bully".

Nevertheless, if I did, I'm genuinely pleased to see that you like
"Wooly Bully". It's one of those songs that's so much fun to hear that I
wonder a little bit about the sanity (or sense of humor) of someone who
doesn't enjoy it.

	Gregory Sager

P.S. Frank, thanks for the interesting insight about the song and
Wilshire Boulevard.
