In my opinion, this is a ridiculous marketing ploy. There is nothing 
special about these "audio grade" CD-Rs. Data is data, and either the 
media is holding up or it isn't. That said, I strongly recommend Mitsui 
Gold for serious archival. I have never had a problem with them, and 
have important masters backed up on them going back to the early 90's. 
The company claims a 50 year life-span. Who knows if that will be true, 
but so far so good. I use Mitsui or Taiyo Yuden "silvers" for less 
critical stuff. They seem to work just as well so far, and have been 
given a 25 year shelf-life. You can buy all these on-line in bulk very 
reasonably.

In my experience, Imation, TDK, and most of the other brands available 
at your typical Office Store are of questionable quality. They may work 
now, but I wouldn't trust them more than 5 years... even less for the 
blueish and greenish hued discs.
