Finally.. Thank you Matty for so putting things so nicely. For the past
Five years I have poured drinks at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC. During that
time I have come to discover the Blue Collar musicians that tirelessly
stream through. Some are better than others but I realized that they were
all having Fun doing what they love. I have also watched the commitment
with which John Brodeur has organized events in Albany from his Elvis
Costello tribute to this weeks Pop Bar-B-Que. This weekend The New
Pornographers played two excellent sold out shows In New York. Yes, their
record is on Matador (a very big small fish) but the band came last year as
well when they weren't. Everyone in that band has built a life for
themselves being creative because they didn't wait around for anyone else to
do it for them.

We create our own reality. My life is ultimately a much more important
piece of art than any song I could write. I refuse to waste any more of it
bitching about the work which is a privilege to begin with.

Thanks again Matty-

Frank Bango

PS. Seminar panl discussions and books about how to make it in the music
industry are also Bullshit. I would recommend staying away from them when
possible.
