I LOVE my classic VH1.
although, here's a hint: it's best to watch with friends - a la "mystery
science theatre" style:
"oh my god! it's 'the warrior'!"
"didn't she marry johnny mac?"
" yeah, she did and i *had* that exact outfit in 1985"
"no way!"
etc..
it's also fun to try to guess what the next video is gonna be, as usually
they'll keep to a relative genre for 3 or 4 videos (at least until the next
"break"). Example: Echo and The Bunnymen are on and the shouts begin:
"Gene Loves Jezebel "
" Tears for Fears"
"Difford and Tilbrook, where they're all gloomy windblown and gloomy! (aka
loves crashing waves)"
"New Order"
winner is whoever is closest.
All varieties of classic VH-1 can be turned into a drinking game, if
necessary.
I have an old parasol "artist" pal who has a tendency to couch surf -
(note to roux: you know exactly who!)
- and he loves crashing on my couch because even before he gets to the door,
while walking up the apt. stairs, it's:
"what channel is classic VH-1 again?"
pretty funny. and FUN!
