So at the reqest of more music-related discussion, I'll chime in with a few
things that I've been listening to lately:

FOW/Bleu - We've talked these up plenty, so I needn't say much more beyond
that these are two of my favorite releases so far this year. I've played them a
lot at work and more than a few customers have bought each, which is always a
nice validation.

The Kinks - For some reason, I'd put off buying up any of the Kinks katalog
(sorry) until recently, but after finding "Muswell Hillbillies" on sale I was
bit by the bug. Now I'm most of the way through buying them all (which takes
some time, partially because I am careful to make sure I buy the *right*
reissues of each album), and I love the whole thing, even their much-dismissed '70s
rock operas. This reminds me, does anyone have any insight into the Kinks
catalog--particularly, what are people's favorite albums, how do they feel about
the band's different eras, etc? Also, does anyone know of a place where you can
read up on the story of their three rock operas (ie is there a site online
someplace that distills the plot a bit?)

The Sounds - The Blondie comparisons are accurate, but if you like your pop
to sound new/wavey and with explosive choruses, go buy this NOW. It's extremely
catchy and well-assembled (little production bits here and there,
particularly with the synths, will please even picky listeners)

The Model Rockets - Pilot County Suite - Everyone salivated over their Not
Lame album from last year, but I've seen nary a mention of this, which is
basically an extended EP of their new "single" (if you can call it that, it's 10
minutes long) along with a slew of rarities from "Tell the Kids" and "Snatch it
Back and Hold It". MOST of this stuff is as good as anything they've released,
albeit a bit more reckless, a bit more rock, and a bit more silly.

Also, does anyone have any thoughts about the new AM Radio album? It's on
sale at Newbury for 9.99 and I liked their song on the last IPO cd and I was
curious if it's any good or if it's just generic pop-punk.
