I was a big fan of the janglepop/guitar pop of the Q's previous
recordings; The Deep End, their eponymous debut on A&M, and the
followup, Blue Tomorrow. Although Royal Academy of Reality has been
getting consistently rave reviews, it sounds like a completely different
band (I guess a lot can happen in the almost 14 years since the release
of World War Two Point Five). Anyway, to me the pop is gone only to be
replaced by over-produced prog rock.
