Since talk seems to be turning to metal or so called 'hard pop' I thought i
would mention a great new UK band called The Darkness. They seem like a
throwback to hair metal but they have some great songs. At times you get the
impression they should have their tongue lodged firmly in their cheek but
I'm not sure they do (almost hope they don't).

The singer is fond of wearing tight fitting spandex jump suits slashed to
the navel and I'm sure that's Derek Smalls on bass. They were a huge hit on
Later With Jools Holland a couple of weeks ago as the lead singer, who is
fond of the odd leap into falsetto, ended up stood atop Jools' piano ripping
out a solo. They also just opened Glastonbury and managed to rock the crowd
at 10.15 in the morning!

I'm describing them poorly but thought I would give a headsup as they'll, if
nothing else, give you a good laugh.

Mark
