Mike Wiz pondered:

Anybody have ANY information on this band?? >>
I have an ep by Q-16 titled "About Face" on Blackjack records from 1983. The
songs sound like a cross between the Human League and Haircut 100
(synth/dance/pop but it has some horns on the tracks). I hadn't played this ep in 20
years until your post. It's okay with some of the songs being fairly catchy, but
nothing standing out. The song titles are as follow:
Bring You Love Down
Push (Comes To Shove)
Reckless Lives
Unk
Wait...Hour
More Unk
Unk contains some of the goofiest lyrics I've ever heard:
"If it smells, it's a skunk"
"Too much to drink, you're drunk"
"Kareem Abdul-Jabbar can slam dunk"
"In a monastery lives a monk"
and so on.
I've also found a website that shows that Q-16 had another release titled
"It's Not What They Told You". I don't know anything about that release, but you
can purchase both Q-16 records for $10 a piece. Access the site at:
www.recordsbymail.com/static/artistSearch.php/artistFirst/artistLast/Q-16
Probably more info than you would ever need about Q-16.

(whose birthday songs are Jailhouse Rock in the U.S. and That'll Be The Day
in the U.K. - not too shabby)
