Subject Birthday Number Ones

My UK birthday number one:  "Reach for The Stars" by Shirley Bassey.

But if I opt for the USA one "Take Good Care of My Baby" by Bobby Vee.  I
think I will opt for the US version!

PS just picked up Rhino's "Ultimate Yardbirds" 2CD comp in a sale at the
weekend.  Just my tuppence worth here, but does anyone else agree that The
Yardbirds were the most shambolically recorded/produced "mainstream" band
of the 60s.  Even Rhino's remastering treatment fails to raise the sound
quality from shrill and tinny in the extreme.  Half the tracks sound like
they are being played from a slightly off-wavelength AM radio station!
