admit to loving a Billy Joel song. Try that in the general public!

hey, i agree, that's something i love about audities too! but ya know, it
bugs me that bill joel has such a bad rap amongst the general public. so,
he's not too cool - but he has written quite a few great catchy melodies,
put them to great performances, consistently over the years... really, he
was a top 40 king in the Brill building tradition, and IMO has more
songwriting chops in his pinky finger than most of what's on the radio these
days combined into one big glop. now, i'm not billy's biggest fan, same
with elton - not in my top 10, or probably even top 40 fave artists - but it
bugs me when folks don't give him his due because he's not, say, the stones,
or lennon, or other dinosaurs with much better street cred. oh well.
