You mean "Sweet Soul Music" by Arthur Conley. That
record was produced
by
Otis
>himself and Aurthur wrote the lyrics,
---Just a bit of trivia -- "Sweet Soul Music" is
actually a rewrite of a Sam Cooke song called "Yeah,
Man" (which can be found on a nice collection, 'Keep
Movin' On,' that compiles a number of Cooke's tracks
that had not previously been available on CD)
However, the writing credit on "Sweet Soul Music"
initially failed to credit Cooke, listing only Conley
and Redding as co-writers. It wasn't until his
publishing company, Kags Music, threatened a lawsuit
that Cooke's name was added. And despite the obvious
influence Cooke had on Conley, he is NOT among those
name-checked in the song.
