Most recent purchase was a pair of CDs from NotLame, "Lost Weekend Vol.2"
and "Pop is Art" (does anyone know anything about the background behind
this one, I am intrigued to know more. Bruce B?).

They're both great, esp. the Aussie compilation. Maybe just me, but I
often think that these compilations are the best way to hear power-pop.
Bands often seem to put their best tracks on, and listening to them is like
having a perfect alternate radio station, but with no annoying DJs or
commercials. For example, pick any of the IPO comps, the Lost Weekend
comps, Yellow Pills series, NashPop etc etc.

So at the moment the album I am listening to most is Lost Weekend Vol2, and
right now I'd like to listen to it again more than I'd like to listen to
Beatles '62 - '66. But from an objective viewpoint, which is the better
album? No competition! I've listened to that Beatles album so often
(first on cassette, then vinyl, then CD) that the songs seem to be part of
my genetic makeup.

B^)
