I'm having a senior moment - Either:
Sgt Pepper (from K-Mart)
or
Five Man Electrical Band - Goodbyes and Butterflies (purchased for 76 cents
at a Bicentennial sale in a grocery store in Terra Alta, WA while spending
the 4th of July with my grandparents - it rocked the Silvertone console
stereo [which I still have in all its tube-driven glory])
I owned a few albums before that I had been given as gifts (including
K-Tel's Believe in Music and 22 Fantastic Hits, Hermans Hermits "Museum" and
Paul Revere and the Raiders "Cinderella Sunshine") and I had purchased quite
a few 45s, but one of the above was the first official with-my-own-money
buy.
