Awww, Double B, you meant to type *On Your Feet Or On Your Knees*,
right? Second-best name for a live album ever, trailing only the live CD
entitled *Greatest Hits Played Faster* that was included in the Camper Van
Beethoven box set.

As befitting the sinister and enigmatic aura cultivated by the band
(pun intended), *On Your Feet Or On Your Knees* also had the weirdest
gatefold picture I've ever seen in an album -- all five Oyster boys playing
guitar (the quintuple-axe instrumental being a regular schtick within their
set at the time) before an audience of hooded monks.

My favorite late-period BOC song remains "Joan Crawford" from *Fire
Of Unknown Origin* -- funny, disturbing, and insanely catchy all at once.
Just try to get that "Joan Crawford has risen from the grave!" chorus hook,
complete with madcap Allen Lanier classical piano riff, out of your head
after listening to the song. How could you not love a ditty about the
apocalyptic panic created by the resurrected corpse of a tormented movie
queen, complete with the hissed Dunawayesque refrain of "Christina!
Christina!" in the bridge?

Their best album -- and I have 'em all -- remains *Agents Of
Fortune*, though. Not only is "(Don't Fear) the Reaper" one of the coolest
hits to ever grace Top 40 radio, the album itself is chock-full of goodies
that were heavy enough to maintain the band's image and poppy enough to
stick like peanut butter to the roof of your cerebral cortex.
