My latest latest is TRANSVECTION by the Magick Heads (featuring Robert
Scott of the Bats and the Clean), which I haven't listened to because the
mail just came 15 minutes ago.  The latest I've actually listened to is
Bronwyn's THROUGH THE FOG, THROUGH THE PINES, which I'm about 2/3s through.
 Unless it starts sucking horridly in the next few songs, it's a definite
keeper.  Better than the Box Tops' SUPER HITS?  Mmmm...more consistent.
(Aside from the usual suspects -- "The Letter," "Soul Deep," "Neon
Rainbow," "Cry Like A Baby" -- SUPER HITS has a fair amount of filler on
it.  The Rhino best-of from the '80s is much better.)  However, if you have
fond memories of the Cat Heads/Downy Mildew/Vomit Launch/Salem 66/early
Barbara Manning, or if you like Tara Jane O'Neil, recent Doleful Lions and
Mary Timony's recent work, this is totally for you: dual female vocals,
stately melodies, jangly guitars, cello, that sort of thing.
