Did any LA-area Auditeer's happen to read last Sunday's LA Times article
about the demise of the session drummer? I could not believe my eyes when I
read that Hal Blaine is practically broke and living in Palm Desert without
so much as a snare drum in his house. I know nothing of the man's investment
philosophy (or if he even had one), but he said he was reduced to selling
nearly all of his 150+ gold albums to make ends meet. He said, and I quote,
"I have to be honest with you. I'd be homeless today without my pension." A
bitter divorce might explain some of his financial struggles, but still, the
article bummed me out.

Memories of Anna Borg's Robbie Rist/Kenny Howes living room show last
Saturday is cheering me up again. Thanks Anna, Mark, Robbie, Kenny and
everyone else -- we had a blast!

NP: Rooney - ST. With all the positive comments I've read here, I was
expecting a LOT more from this band. I daresay this sounds like nothing less
than routine, cookie-cutter melodic pop -- pleasant but ultimately
unsatisfying, and more than just a little familiar. I detect very little to
distinguish these songs from one another, and the progressions are downright
routine: I find myself anticipating the chord changes before they happen --
correctly. File this under "why?".
