Aside from the singer's general vocal timbre and the guitar on the first
song, I don't hear much Joy Division on this album at all.  I think the
constant Joy Division references are just lazy reviewers copying the press
releases.  Same thing with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who sound as much like
Teenage Jesus and the Jerks as the Carpenters do.  Personally, I agree with
my wife: the YYYs are JUJU-era Siouxsie and the Banshees plus the guitarist
from Naked Raygun.
