I have a pivotal moment like that. When I was in high school, on the same
day, I bought Motley Crue's "Theater of Pain" and the Alarm's "Strength."
The road taken from those two albums was the Alarm...because there was
something more intriguing about a band who WASN'T winning the Friday Night
Video Fights on a weekly basis, something inherently cooler about listening
to someone that everyone wasn't already listening to. After reading "Fargo
Rock City," I did, indeed, wonder about "the road not taken"...but not for
very long...:-)
