While I love my share of cheesy 70's (Brandy and Beach Baby are probably in
my personal top 20) my real cheesy weakness is for 60's organ combos.

#1: Dick Hyman - The Man From O.R.G.A.N.

Today a patron donated two huge shipping boxes full of LPs to the library.
Since I'm the media services director, of course I had to take charge of
them. :)
(cue grimace from wife).

Among the other cool finds, it's "The Discotheque Dance Album" featuring on
organ - Dick Hyman.
Also featuring Doc Severinsen (trpt) Tony Mottola (guitar) and Bucky
Pizzareli (guitar) along with everyone else who played on The Man From
O.R.G.A.N.
Set list: A Taste of Honey, I'm Henry The VIII, I Am, St. Louis Blues, I'm
Telling You Now, Old Devil Moon, Mr. Tamborine Man, bathtub Saturday Night,
King of the Road, Gonna Build A Mountain, My Girl Sloopy, Tonight from West
Side Story, and Baby Love, all done "hep cat swingin' style."

"This is the dance band of the Power Age...the OVERWHELMING SOUND of a
super-discoteque."
(yeah, the liner notes are a trip, too).

Anyone else wanna 'fess up?
