I may have made a decent point, but in a cranky fashion -- sorry about that,
Jeff. This leads to another question though -- how much of that is
expectation -- what is lightweight and possibly disappointing from one act
might not be for another act. If, for example, Shoes put out a new record
with "Stacy's Mom" (presuming, of course, that FoW didn't), the context
would be a whole lot different.
Now, I'll quibble to an extent about the Ish's lyrics -- I think that
Ellison wrote some pretty cool direct lyrics -- "The Next Big Thing", IMO,
is excellent.
