Mike:

Your point is well taken...I just think these 2 songs are pretty light weight
for a band that (IMHO) is capable of better. And yes...there is alot of simple
power pop with dumb lyrics; Material Issue's "Destination Universe" is a
good example of an album in need of serious lyrical overhaul! None of this
means anything is "good" or "bad"...it's just one person's opinion!

 If "Stacey's Mom" and "Bright Future In Sales" are dumb, then most of power 
 pop is...idiotic? Imbecilic?  The former is silly, but certainly 
 intelligently written.  "Bright Future In Sales" is Ray Davies for the 21st 
 Century -- affectionately skewering a yuppie in over his head.  Calling 
 Fountains of Wayne dumb is...dumb.
