While I keep "A Hard Day's Night" right up there
in its much-deserved Category All Its Own
(as I do most things Fab),
"Head" honestly remains to me
THEE most accurate cinematic rendering
of all things Sixties r 'n' r:
It's fast, loud,
in Living Colour
...AND it's got just the correct amount of world-weariness
(cynicism even, to some)
that's just plum missing from most every single other pop/rock flick
this side of "Catch Us If You Can" and, of course, "Privilege."

started on the soundtrack!!! >>
y'know, I can still most fondly recall our high school's resident stoner
coming into Film class one morning armed with a copy of P. Floyd's
"Ummagumma."
"Wow, now THIS is pretty cool!" I enthused
(whilst scrutinizing the cover art most closely indeed).
"You think THAT'S cool," Stoner replied,
"I'm gonna bring an even BETTER record in tomorrow!"
He did
...and that was the "Head" soundtrack.

and don't fret o'er yer subject heading, Tall Girl,
as no less than Teri Garr, on a vintage Letterman years back,
explained how the film's producers were always anxious to release a sequel
...if only so they could begin the trailer by announcing,
"From the people who gave you Head....")
