If I wasn't such a nice laidback guy, I'd say f...ah, never mind.
That statement is absurd.
Making a comparison between a legal act (smoking) and what by all accounts
was a compound full of illegal activity is the worst kind of ad homenim
debate.

Yes you are. You're telling them what business decision they must make
concerning what legal activities they can choose to allow their customers to
do.
