Hi Randy,
I bought the "Metarie" e.p. at Brendan's show at the Bowery Ballroom in New
York last Friday night, and just finished listening to it. It has two more
versions of the title track. I've four versions now, including the one on
Lapalco and the one that Brendan made available for download as a CD preview.
The new "wellfed version" has a new chorus and is the version that the band
plays on stage. I think there are even two more versions out there on a British
e.p.
I particularly like the new song "You're Quiet" with the funny verse "I'm
Brendan ... What's your name?"
Sad to say, Brendan and band's performance was off on Friday. There were more
false starts than I've ever heard at a show and Brendan complained about the
sound mix and monitors. His on-stage patter was unusual. He said that his show
in Boston was bad, now why bring that up?
I enjoyed the songs he played solo, since his vocals were more assured.
See ya,
Sherman
