Kevin -- Very well put. I've been waiting for someone to make this counter-argument for years....
Why some hyper-conservatives and libertarians take their valid anti-government concerns to insane extremes has always baffled me. We once had that wonderful no-regulation society and we also had rancid meat, rivers on fire, and once-plentiful resources hunted and logged into mass extinction.
