The Sunday show here in Chicago was quite swell also. It was at the Beat
Kitchen (now under the management of Mike G. of Magnaphonic). Attendance
was about 40 or 50, with a bunch of Auditeers there. One attendee drove 10
hours to the gig.

The crowd was definitely enthralled, because when the music dropped down, it
was so quiet. I think things were a bit subdued on a Sunday night, but
there was still great interaction with the audience. I missed the two guys
from the Webstirs, as I was socializing outside the music room. I saw some
of Gidgets Ga Ga, who have a raspy voiced singer and played some solid
stuff. When Michael broke a string near the set's end, the GGG guitarist
lent Michael his acoustic Ovation -- oh, the Fellowship of Pop.

It was a fine set -- he played two great new songs. "Rubber Ball" is happy
jaunt with somewhat of a Buddy Holly vibe. "Good Enough" has somewhat of a
'60s R & B feel in the chorus, with Michael soaring to the top of his range.
He also did a Cloud Eleven cover (eek -- forgot the title...)

Check him out, if you get the chance ---

Mike Bennett
