Wow! I'm impressed that you're able to pick only ONE
show around which to arrange travel plans! I know
there have in the past been some comments on this list
that perhaps IPO is too long, but when I look at this
year's schedule, all I can think of is (cliche, I
know) "so much great music, so little time!" One of
my favorite things about IPO (both the festival itself
and the whole culture it creates in the
pop/rock/pop-punk/alternative music community) is that
pretty much every bill has a combination of old
favorites, hot new bands I'm dying to see, and one or
two I might not have heard of yet, but might come to
love if I'm able to free up my schedule to attend. I
figure anyone David puts on a bill with the Spinning
Jennies or the Waking Hours or Peachfuzz is someone
I'll probably like, even if I haven't had the chance
to hear them yet! Now, if only I could figure out how
to work my schedule to attend all of those nights,
plus Girl's night out and Rainbow Quartz night....

On a related topic, I was really happy to (finally!)
see a post about a new band that I might like (the
Methadones), which was the main reason I joined
Audities in the first place. It's not that I don't
like Matthew Sweet (cause I do), but on the other
hand, I don't need to be a member of Audities to find
out about him. How about fewer posts about well
established artists, and more posts about some of the
cool new bands that some of us might not have heard of
yet (but perhaps others have) that we should all make
sure we don't miss at IPO?
