Still love the Queers but you're too old to feel comfortable singing along
to "Ursula Finally Has Tits" and "I Can't Stop Farting" in your
car...possibly because your kids are in the back seat? Then immediately
check out the Methadones' CAREER OBJECTIVE. Fronted by former Riverdales
bassist Daniel Schafer (also a regular presence in the Screeching
Weasel/Queers axis of bubblegum punk), the Methadones are the older but
wiser voice of pop-punk, the band that understands that grown-ups need
their bamalama fix too. In particular, dig the brilliantly snarky "Say
Goodbye To Your Generation" and the utterly magnificent, pure power pop
"You Don't Know Me Anymore," a song that proves that you can move beyond
three chords in two minutes and still rock.
It's on eMusic.
Gabe Fuentes, you need this.
It's goooooooooood.
