I just learned that the big Michael Carpenter / Gidgets Ga Ga / Webstirs
show at the Beat Kitchen starts at **8:30pm** on Sunday night June 1st.
I've been telling people it's at 9:00 pm, so I thought I better get the
revised word out. Also -- Adam Marsland will be hanging out at this show
on his night off. Cool!! Cooler if he was playing on the bill...
Apologies to those of you who are reading this who are not in Chicago... but
Don't You Ever Attend a Show Vicariously? I do. Last Saturday night after
Peter and Cathy Kuehl's wedding reception, while Patti and I sat in the
Chicago Emergency Veterinary Services waiting room, we noted '"It's 10pm in
L.A., that means Michael Carpenter is taking the stage at the big show at
Molly Malone's.... now it's 11pm in L.A., that means Eugene Edwards Band
(one of our Chicago-IPO highlights) is playing *now*.." {yeah, we were at
the hospital until 2am CST but I'll save that for the cat-lovers board.}
Join us in person or vicariously on Sunday night at **8:30pm** CST.

p.s. I second what Brian Curtis (Oohs) said about Adam's forthcoming solo
CD. wow. strings. piano. twang. great songs. During one song, I even had an
image of Adam (move over, Randy Newman) playing as one of the 5 nominees for
the Best Original Song Oscar! Really. I shared that with Adam, who, in a
daze, commented, "I didn't think I could write a song that is sadder than
Ginna Ling, but I DID..."
