Hi Everyone,

Fellow Auditeer Russell Hayward recently turned me on to a couple of artists
who I think you should know about:

1. Pugwash-The project led by Thomas Walsh, an affable and very talented
gent from Dublin, Ireland. Their two CDs, Almanac and Almond Tea, fit very
nicely in the Jon Brion, Jason Falkner camp, the latter comparison not too
surprising in light of the fact that Jason plays on a few songs on each of
the discs. Walsh doesn't quite have the songwriting range of either Brion
or Falkner, but within the bandwidth in which he writes he's definitely got
the goods. You can check out some tunes at www.pugwashtheband.com

2. Bailey-Brothers Oliver and Dominic Bailey from Sussex, England, whose two
CDs remind me a lot of Colin Blunstone or Eric Matthews, but with a bit more
of an edge. Good stuff! Check 'em out at www.bailey.info

Thank you so much, Russell! If anybody else has any insights they can share
about other UK artists, please either post about them or let me know offlist
at bashpop@earthlink.net. I have some IPO-related reasons for asking. :-)
