Semi Annual De-lurking -
Wow! I actually know something about this directly! The head producer of the
Late Late show, Todd Yasui, is an old friend of mine. He has discretion to
put whatever music he wants on the show. I'm sure there are many cases where
he does the hype-machince route, but he (or his staff) may hear something on
the radio, or see an artist play live in SoCal and decide to give them a
chance. Todd loves music and takes this stuff seriously.

why does this happen to 'bowling for soup'?
this is just a rhetorical question, of course. i know,
i know. but it was just weird. are these guys popular
or something? i don't listen to the radio. i'm out of
the loop. but for one song, i'm like...okay. there's
a hook, mediocre or not, i'm singing along. damnit.
