I am not sure if it is part of the collection mentioned below, but when we
saw Warren Zanes a few weeks ago he told me that he had just finished writing a
book about Dusty Springfield.
Funny, with the mention of The Smiths and all, when I went to write "Dusty
Springfield" just then my mind said "Sandie Shaw".

Also just a quick mention of a very cool Marshall Crenshaw show that we had
the pleasure of attending last week with some auditeers and then some. It was
at the Birchmere in Alexandria VA, a venue I had never been to, so even though
I have seen Marshall easily over 20 times, we had to go.
He played a lot of new material from an album that is supposed to be released
in July and it was really good stuff. It was very cool to hear new songs,
especially since he has such a strong back catalog and could have easily made the
night a "greatest hits" type of night and most of the crowd would have left
happy. Encouraging to see him still growing as an artist, even after all these
years.
