Did anyone (besides me) catch the Swedish band The Sounds on David
Letterman this past Monday.
(snip)

Hi Michael, I did! I really liked them. They were great fun. I vaguely
thought I had heard of them...assuming maybe they were talked about here
previously (?). Anyway, I regretted that I hadn't thrown a tape in so I
could watch it again. That's not a frequent experience for me...

The
energetic quintet is fronted by a very bouncy Maja Ivarsson, the
musicianship seems good, and they're all between 21 & 23, so the
future could be good for them.

She was bouncy but with a touch of "moxy". I really liked her vocals too.
(snip) Critics offer a comparison to
Missing Persons, but from the one performance I saw (evidently
missed their Bay Area appearance) they would have fit nicely on a
bill with any number of new wave/punk acts circa 1979.

I'm with you. I was totally thinking late punk moving into new wave....
Has anyone caught them live or heard their disc?

Best, Steve D.
NP: The Kaisers "Shake Me" (yet another band I missed somehow until
recently)
