I got my copy of The Thorns CD in the mail yesterday (I did the autographed
copy from sonymusic thing), and despite enjoying it to a certain extent, I
found it to be somewhat over-produced. The songs that I'd heard on the
radio seemed to take a CSNY vibe and overlay a Beach Boys production sense.
The full CD seems to play upon the CSNY thing (the artwork is reminiscent of
Deja Vu). The arrangements/production is far more similar to Wilson
Phillips then Brian Wilson - I think that that's what bugs me - it's a bit
too polished for my tastes.
