What a shame.

To be fair, the Apples In Stereo have *always* sounded like that live.
I've been seeing them live ever since the first tour for FUN TRICK
NOISEMAKER (they used to habitually open their tours in Albuquerque, it
being the next major city down I-25 from Denver) and I can assure you that
the "nuances" of the records have never been in their live act, and live,
they've always been much noisier and more distorted than they've ever been
on record.  So you haven't really missed anything.

And personally, I loved VELOCITY OF SOUND -- I think it's their best record
in years.
