Hi folks, just a plug for Michael Carpenter's current UK and upcoming US
tours. I saw him on Sunday night in Edinburgh Subway and he was in fine
vocal form. The guy has the sweetest voice and it rang out clear and true.
He played a selection of songs from all his albums, + a new one "Rolling
Ball" and covered "Neil Jung" by Teenage Fanclub (off their Grand Prix
album). Mike also has pretty good stage patter and soon had the audience
eating out of his hand, singing along with the "Na-na-na" bits in the song
"Kings Road". Good natured heckling was encouraged and the people duly
obliged. Fave songs of the evening? "Kings Road", "Love So Strong" and
"Thinking About You".
Anyway, many of you probably know his qualities already, so git along to
the gigs and check him out (you won't be disappointed), and buy some CDs
from his lovely wife Kelly who is working his merch table.
Dates are at http://mcarp.com
PS if Bruce Brodeen is reading this, any news on the Teenage Fanclub
tribute CD?
PPS can anyone post reviews of Shazam at Fireside Bowl, how did it compare
to their IPO slot?
