Is that "Wrong Way Up?" I dig this quite a bit - i
seem to recall someone weird (like Sugar Ray?)
covering a song "Spinning Away" from this eno/cale
foray on the soundtrack to the leonardo dicaprio
vehicle "The Beach" and, naturally, i had to alert
everyone within hearing distance that i had been
putting that song on mix tapes for AT LEAST 5 YEARS.
Also naturally, nobody actually gave a rat's ass.)
Anyhoo, a beautiful song on a pretty consistent and
strong effort - not what i expected when i picked it
up, but better. The song "One Word" is also quite
nice...I do also remember thinking that the synthy
world these gents inhabit is kind of chilly and
metallic, and wondering what would happen if someone
warmed them up a bit. Pop bliss, or the collapse of
the icy fortress of solitude? Hard to say. Sic Daniel
Lanois on them boys.
